Math Is All a Buzz

Help me give my students games to practice math concepts and prepare for math competitions as well as lock out buzzers to make the competition more exciting.

My Students

My students come from a wide geographic area as our school district is made up of 9 small towns and the many miles of the rural area between them. With such a wide geographic area, we have a wide range of student interests. Many of our students are interested in working in careers that require high level STEM abilities, but they need the chance to learn these skills that they will need.

To increase problem-solving skills and prepare students for an ever-changing world, we are trying to increase the amount of students participating in extracurricular STEM activities and competitions.

My students love the feeling of "playing math" when we do games and activities in class. I have middle school students that participate in local, regional , and state level competitions, and I have high school students that visit our elementary students to bring STEM competitions to their classrooms.

My Project

My students are ramping up for competitions and need a buzzer set to help them feel the vibe of the competition spirit. Combined with an assortment of math games, the students will be able to practice a wide variety of topics with a range of skill levels.

The Eggspert timer system that we use right now is great, but it is wired and forces the students to be too close together.

This means that the students cannot work in a team setting because they cannot spread out in the room. With 2 sets of wireless Eggspert systems, my students can work in teams and/or split into two rooms so that everyone can participate to the fullest!
