I teach a vibrant and exciting group of students. My students are mostly At-Risk and low income students who come to school despite their background and work really hard to get their education. Math being most of their favorite subject, they prove every day that they want a better life and to seek higher education.
We are currently in a rebuilding phase due to Hurricane Harvey, and we wont let this devastation stop us from succeeding in school and math.
With the help of some amazing donors and giving spirits we want to show everyone what we are capable of!
My Project
I teach at a school that has a very large amount of English Language Learners. These are students whose first language is not English. The students need a visual learning aid that helps them to translate English into things they are familiar with.
Integrating technology in my math class will not only assist with these excited learners but it will also help with many of the other students who need another avenue to learn math.
I will use the iPad to pull students out and work with them with Apps like Photo Math where they can take a picture of their work and instantly get feedback. I will also use Apps like iTooch Middle School to challenge my students who are advanced.
