First graders have a unique sense of wonder about everything around them and an enthusiastic desire to learn and grow. I have an amazing group of 24 first grade students who love to learn and are thriving during virtual learning. They "login" to learning everyday with a smile and have made the transition to virtual learning with ease. They crave new information and love a challenge.
The current pandemic situation has thrown us all into a digital world and we continue to modify our virtual learning platform daily.
My Project
First grade students thrive when given the opportunity to explore when learning new concepts in math. These math materials will allow all students hands on learning experiences. Students will be actively engaged working with each other helping their social skills and mental health.
Students are more engaged and immersed in lessons when using hands on materials.
These materials will allow students the opportunity to actively explore when attempting to add, subtract, and increase number sense.
I have seen the positive impact math manipulatives have on students learning. These math materials will enhance the learning environment in our classroom and meet the individual needs of diverse learners.
