My Project

Interactive learning experiences produce engaged global citizens. The traditional approaches to teaching and learning math need some adapting in order to reach today's middle school students. Interactive notebooks will provide my students with an outlet for organization and an opportunity to personalize their learning. Within their composition notebooks will be housed math notes, examples, and resources for them to refer back to while extending their learning in school or at home. The additional materials will be used to invoke creativity and bring meaning to learning.

By donating to this project, you will provide my students with an opportunity to have a hands-on approach to their learning, making it more individualized.

Sixth graders are excited, energized, and always on the go. This leads to a heavy bookbag with multiple folders, random assignments, and forms that were meant to be signed. Your contribution will help to limit this chaos.

Going into my 4th year of teaching, I am eager to find a consistent note-taking routine for my students that also instills organizational skills that will set them up for future success. Incorporating interactive notebooks will simplify the organization of their math tools and skills to ease the transition into middle school and adolescence.
