Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is considered Title I, meaning the majority of our students come from low-income households or even worse, poverty situations. These students and their families lack financial means to help their child be successful in the classroom.

Many of my students are performing well below their grade-level peers and require significant support inside of my classroom.

Many of these students are also English language learners, meaning that English is not their first language and struggle to comprehend concepts that I am teaching on a daily basis.

My students are positive and eager learners who benefit from hands on opportunities.

My Project

The product that I am requesting is two levels of an interactive mathematics curriculum to help supplement our math curriculum in the classroom.

Many of my students with special education needs are performing far below their grade level peers in the area of mathematics.

Our district and school uses a curriculum that presents information in a way that is sometimes difficult for students with unique learning needs to understand.

The curriculum needed would provide hands on learning experiences that will engage these diverse learners in grade level concepts and activities in a meaningful way! My hope is that with direct instruction using these engaging activities that incorporate multi-sensory learning, students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of grade level concepts and ideas.
