This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are great kids who work hard to learn new concepts in math. They are a diverse group of learners from Long Branch New Jersey. They come from many cultures and many speak more than one language. These diverse learners need opportunities to learn in a way that works best for them. They are smart and hardworking. They make teaching fun! I have three classes of student who I teach math each day. Together we learn new methods of math each day!

My Project

I am requesting the game Battleship for my math students to give them an opportunity to learn and practice ordered pairs through games. We work very hard each week to learn and practice new skill. I like to have students reflect on what they learn and reinforce skills on Friday. Using a variety of games that related to the skill we are working on both homemade and store bought keeps my students engaged and having fun while practicing important skills. Students also use the games to help come up with and design games if there own to practice our skills!
