As a Kindergarten teacher, I am always looking for challenging and exciting ways to reach every learner in my classroom. My students come to school every day eager to learn and excited to see what the day has in store for them!
I teach in a small school district in Ohio where many home town values are still prevalent.
Families are invested in their children and are supportive of teachers and staff.
Today's little learners face specific challenges that are unique to this generation. My hope is to provide a safe, fun place for all of the students in my care to reach their full potential.
The use of math games (Unlock It! Number Match, Build-A-Number Houses and Jumbo Buttons) in the classroom occurs daily. Students are always looking for novelty in their choices. The various math games Lakeshore creates are fascinating to my Kindergarten students and hold their attention. The individual 10 frames will allow me to demonstrate, and the students to participate, in a hands on way instead of just watching.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our Kindergarten classroom by creating better mathematicians.
Young children need multiple experiences with hands on materials to learn most effectively. Students who are confident using numbers will be able to soar as they go on to higher level math in future grades.
