Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The integration of math and literacy seem difficult to see! However, these two subjects intertwine on a daily basis. My students love to read and enjoy exploring the math world!

My students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners.

Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. My students seem to struggle to see the integration between math and literacy. These math-based read aloud books will allow for all learners to access material in a way that is engaging and fun. It will give them an opportunity for me to model reading for my students in order for them to continue to push their love of reading and math.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom math/science library is a place that my students really enjoy going to. They are able to read about STEM-related material. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind as I have tried to find books that are geared towards what math.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read books that integrate their love of math and reading.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them in both subjects and push their thinking about math concepts! It will give me more opportunities to work on their literacy skills!
