This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I serve low-income students in the Charlotte, NC area. These children do not have the adequate resources to help them reach their highest potential. Many of these students come from home environments where they do not do math games or activities to help them to improve and reinforce their math skills.
My students love hands-on activities.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
My students love math daily WIN time. WIN stands for What I Need and this is the time when students get to practice skills that they are still struggling with.
My students like playing math games as it makes learning more fun.
They especially like working with partners as they can help correct and encourage their classmates on whatever math task that they are working on.
Collaboration is an integral part of WIN time and with these math games and activities, my students will be able to reinforce and practice skills that they need to be proficient within math.
