My Project

Our classroom is requesting curriculum aligned math games we can enjoy during our Hands-on math center. My goal for this project is to allow all students to ability to learn and practice grade level math concepts in a fun and engaging way while practicing social skills, turn taking, and problem solving with their peers.

Math games improve students' math proficiency and can intrinsically motivate them to seek knowledge and proactively solve problems.

By working their way through these games, they learn how to approach failure with a growth mindset. Math games help build strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Students learn to solve problems together, think strategically about what moves to make, and how to be successful in playing the game. Throughout a math game, students make a lot of strategic decisions as they problem solve and plan their next move.

In the Math Stacks game students take turns drawing match cards and using mental math look for the equivalent starter card on which to stack it.Once a four-card stack is made it can be collected. The person with the most stacks at the end of play wins! My students will love playing fraction, place value, and geometry math stack games.

The Junior Learning Dominoes sets will help students learn through Play. The Dominoes sets will transform the learning of multiplication, place value, geometry, and fractions into an interactive experience, making it an educational yet fun activity. The game’s design encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, building a strong foundation for future math endeavors.

The final games are all board game style games that will help reinforce the concepts of prime, composite, factors, multiples, multiplication, and division.

Lastly, we are requesting a safe accessible storage solution to keep the math games in great shape for years to come!
