Math Fun

Help me give my students math manipulatives to use to practice this summer. My students love reading about important events in Scholastic News.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are happy and eager to learn. The majority of my students are English learners who work hard to not only learn new concepts, but they do it with a new language. Almost all of my students are from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

My students always come with a smile on their faces and can't wait to start the day.

They work together to make our classroom community strong and happy.

My Project

Math manipulatives help my students learn in an exciting way. Being able to play math games allows students to learn while having fun at the same time. (They don't even realize they are learning, they just think they are playing games!) These manipulatives will give lots of opportunities for my students to practice multiplication which is a big deal in 3rd grade and is something they will need as they continue their education.

Reading is so important to a child's education.

Scholastic News gives students information about current events happening. It provides the information in an easy to read format. The articles are high interest and leave my students asking for more. These articles always spark conversation and often lead to students doing more research on the topics.
