Help me give my students math manipulatives including a base ten block kit and a Giant Magnetic Base Ten model to develop strategies in addition and subtraction.
I love my students! They are full of energy and have an enthusiasm for learning. The best thing about teaching them is watching them learn and grow, especially after they have tackled something difficult and then finally master it.
They are all such great friends.

My Project
I have chosen a set of base ten blocks for my classroom. These base ten blocks will help students solidify place value as well as subtraction and addition within 1000. Most kids need to see the numbers represented in concrete models. If each child has a set of these blocks to use, they will be able to connect them to the written strategies we use in second grade.
I am excited to provide these base ten blocks to my second graders so they can learn and grow in math.
Second grade is all about addition and subtraction and with these base ten blocks, my class can will be able to represent two and three digit numbers easily.
