Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are so excited to be back in the classroom. My students are so resilient and have defied the odds by living through a pandemic while coming to class each day, ready to learn and interact with their peers. They are ready to dig in and learn all that they can.
As we all know ownership of ones learning makes learning meaningful.
One area that continues to be of need is organization and . Having the opportunity for my students to create a sense of independence is so important for their development. This opportunity will allow my little ones to have access to their writing supplies. For most of my students, kindergarten is their first experience in a classroom setting. These resources will allow them to have their papers at their finger tips. In addition we are growing in our math independence. One way to do so is through hands on manipulative. The unifix cubes will allow the children to problem solve independently.
My Project
My students are avid mathematicians. Being kindergartners they are working really hard on being independent. Having a vertical desktop sorter where papers can be placed for easy access will allow my students the opportunity to easily access math papers for the day.
Hands-on activities are a must for kindergarteners.
These Unifix cubes will allow my students to complete a variety of math activities including Problem of the Day, Counting Collections and so many more. These tools are easy for little hands to maneuver by taking apart and putting them back together.
