Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a Title One school where funding is limited. We have a high percentage of minority and English Language Learners. Despite their challenges, they work hard everyday to meet their goals.

Because almost all of my students live in poverty, their access to high-quality materials outside of school is very limited.

It is my hope that through the right materials and strategies, I can provide my students with a first-class education, even in a small rural town!

My Project

Many of my students are not proficient in math and lack basic number sense. With a national push to raise reading scores, math often has to take a backseat. This leads to students going on to first and second grade still lacking in basic number sense and problem solving abilities.

ETA Hand2Mind Math Fluency Kits are designed to increase number sense and problem-solving skills in kindergarten students through brief, daily routines.

Using this kit, I can help increase my students' math skills through hands-on materials that are presented as fun, engaging games for kindergarteners.

Developing solid number sense in kindergarten is so essential for future math success. Please consider helping my class achieve our goals!
