My students need supplies including an electric pencil sharpener, stamps, name sleeves, Hot Dots pens and math quiz cards, and an easel to help support their acquisition of math facts.
As a second grade teacher I've noticed just how much students struggle with learning their addition and subtraction facts. This struggle makes the harder concepts very frustrating for them. The resources I'm requesting will make learning math facts fun and engaging.
I have a wonderful group of second grade students at a school wherr I am honored to teach.
A great deal of my students come from families that struggle to provide much needed support and resources to assist in their learning. As a new school we started from scratch last year and we lack a lot of the extra tools to help students learn.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of materials the bulk of which are to assist with math facts. Last year I kept students after school to assist with math and we would make our own flash cards. Time could be better spent if some of these practice opportunities already existed in the classroom, such as the Hot Dots pens and quiz cards that I am requesting. Some of the other items I'm requesting are basic supplies such as a pencil sharpener and a small group easel. The time management magnets and name tag holders will help my students have clear visuals of what we are doing and keep their name plates in good shape as they are a math resource we use all year.
The students that I work with are eager to learn and are truly grateful children.
They appreciate everything they get and seem to really care about their education. I want to give them a strong foundation in math so they can have the confidence to take on harder concepts. Thank you.
