My Students

My 28 fourth graders are a diverse group of learners. They are each unique individuals with varying academic and social needs.

My students are always eager to learn and very curious.

They are very friendly, funny, and love to work in groups. They try their best at everything they do; our classroom motto is to always persevere.

We are located in a growing community with students from varying socioeconomic households. Our school's mission statement is to develop learners and leaders.

My Project

The past year has created many challenges for teachers and students due to all the disruptions in education. I have noticed in the past two years that my students are lacking in number sense. Per Covid, my fourth graders can automatically answer questions like 10 - 8 or 5 X 5. Now students are needed to count on their fingers. This is creating major problems for my students in mastering fourth-grade math concepts, such as multi-digit multiplication and long division.

I'm requesting a Legends of Learning and BreakOut Edu Subscriptions.

Both programs will provide my students with an engaging way to build their number sense.
