My students need math games to use during indoor recess along with center time. These games will help my students recall math facts and allow them to have fun all while still learning.
Being greeted with hugs daily is the best part. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.
My students love to be able to use "different" items in my classroom other than just pencil, paper, and whiteboards.
This year all students at our school are receiving free breakfast and lunch. My students love to be able to use "different" items in my classroom other than just pencil, paper, and whiteboards. They also like to work with other students in the class and not just individually.
My Project
The area our students seem to struggle the most in math is recalling math facts. These items will be fun to use, but the students will still be learning.
These materials will help my students to recall math facts but still have fun.
These items will be used by all the second graders at our school during workshop time, center time, and during indoor recess. Some of the games the students can play by themselves while others require them to work in groups collabratively to be successful in the game. The students will visit these games during indoor recess when the weather it to bad to go outside. The students will also visit these games during workshop in a center like roatation. Not all games will be out for students to choose at one time, but all games will be used through
We are always encouraging our students to practice facts, but most of the time they are having to just use flash cards, or pencil and paper. This will allow the students to still be learning and working during centers, but in a different way. The materials will also help emphasize working together with other students because most of these games require more then one person.
The items will be used individually, some during small groups, some even during whole class instruction. Items will also be used to differentiate instruction to fit the needs for all students in our class.
