My Project

My students are recovering from wildfires. We need a safe space to heal and learn. They are resilient and strong. I am trying to make my classroom a comfortable place to be. With a safe place to relax and express themselves, my students will be able to learn better. I am requesting bean bag chairs, a carpet, composition notebooks, and more. During independent work times, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them.

A comfy seat helps a lot of students feel comfortable and safe.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work. I like to play calming music while my students work. A bluetooth speaker will be helpful in creating this environment. My students are resilient and strong. These items will be used to make them feel safe and comfortable.
