My students need (and I need) these basic supplies to help our class run more smoothly! These will also help cut down on losing materials or having to struggle to find materials when we run fast!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is a strategic math classroom. This means that my students have shown a very specific need in math based on their test scores and so my class serves as an extra help classroom to fill in the gaps on those concepts they may have missed or need more help in. My students are from urban backgrounds and most need help academically and even behaviorally. My students tend to lack motivation or feel less confident in their math journey and therefore I am aiming to help them feel confident and love math again!
My Project
In my classroom, we use a lot of various manipulative pieces, technology, and various learning materials in order to achieve success. My classroom caters to students with severe struggles in mathematics. I have began using more and more technology in the room, and with that comes a higher demand for supplies. With more technology needs, there is a higher need for login codes and ways to store those papers, as well as organization for materials such as headphones, laptops, etc. My students have shown great growth in the past year with the integration of technology in the classroom and they truly enjoy when resources are easily accessible through organization. I would love to have the hanging folders in order to hold login codes, warm ups, extra credit work, and various assignments and resources for my students while we work through lessons, especially technological lessons! The candy is a great motivator for my students. I have found great success in testing scores and self improvement in terms of behavior and academics thanks to working towards a candy incentive. I have had so many students (and myself included) out sick this year. The hand sanitizer would be a help! We use the colored pencils for different math coloring activities where students solve the problem and color it based on their answer and they love it! Please help my classroom flourish this year!
