My Project
I have the pleasure of teaching two classes of amazing third grade students. They range in diversity and ability. Some are Autistic, and many receive special education services. We are a Title I school, and all of my students are from low-income households, so they all receive free breakfast and lunch every day. My students love learning, and they work very hard each day. Their creativity inspires both me and each other. I am consistently humbled by their tenacious spirits, their loving hearts, and their curiosity about the world.
We are halfway through our school year, and our math centers are in need of help!
This school year, our district implemented a new math curriculum, which both my students and myself absolutely LOVE, but it's taken some adjustment in terms of logistics. Most recently, we've discovered that we need a few things to keep our math centers going strong. Keeping the centers organized AND accessible in user-friendly ways is our biggest challenge now, so I'm requesting lots of mesh zipper pouches--they're durable, easy to open and close, and hold all the materials each group needs to use the centers successfully. Many of our new centers involve spinners, which I've been making out of fasteners and paperclips, but they aren't holding up well, so I'm requesting some "real" spinners that will eliminate the frustration that my homemade spinners cause. Finally, many of our centers materials need laminating, so I'm requesting some laminating pouches for those.
