My students need laptops in order to access the Internet and to work on math activities, which will increase their math abilities.

My Students
Urban students traditionally have more academic issues to overcome, and these are no exception. My students are boisterous, curious, excited, and desire a good education but lack many of the things that other schools have.
Studies have shown that all children learn when they have the basic supplies necessary for their education.
We do not have technology in our room for students and want to provide as much as possible for them.
Many of these students are homeless, hungry, unhappy, yet hopeful, and want to learn so they can have a better life. These inner city, African American children are waiting for your help so they can succeed and make a positive impact on tomorrow's world.
My Project
My students come to me sadly far behind in math skills and they need access to online math practice. We have no computers and very limited use of a computer lab which is used primarily for school wide testing year round.
Studies show that practice is how students learn the basic math skills they need to survive and thrive in life.
Having two computers in the room will allow me to set up a learning center, where two at a time and use them for math enrichment activities, practice fact families, and even write stories using math as a background.
Using these computers for math will also give them needed keyboarding skills, develop their ability to work independently, and improve test scores, making all of us happy!
