Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students desperately need a deeper understanding of their math skills. With all of the standardized testing and 'teaching to the test' many of them are lacking a deeper love and understanding of math.
Our school is a high poverty (Title I) school.
My students are mostly all classified as English language learners or former English language learners. While they strive to do their best, many of them lack the deeper understanding and ability to make connections to the real world, that is necessary to have long term success in math and in life.
My Project
I am asking that you help me provide my students with a variety of fun, interactive and hands on games and activities that will help them develop a deeper understanding of the topics. These items teach and support objectives from the NYS as well as the National 7th Grade math learning standards, so they will teach my students about the content as well strategy and team work.
Your generous donation will help my students develop a strong foundation of knowledge that will send them off to high school confident and with a love of math.
