Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our elementary school has a Spanish Immersion program where students spend half the day in English and the other half of the day in Spanish.

I have 56 forth grader that come to school every day eager to learn Spanish as their second language.

Not only are they learning how to speak, read and write in Spanish, but they're also learning science in Spanish. I love coming to school every day and seeing their motivation, hard work and determination as they learn new concepts and become confident in their abilities.

My Project

Games are an important tool for learning in my classroom. These math games would give my students the opportunities to explore and engage in activities that will help them continue to understanding and feel confident with their number concepts.

These engaging math games will encourage my students to explore number combinations, place value, patterns, and other important math concepts.

It also gives opportunities for my students to deepen their math understanding and reasoning.

Playing games encourages strategic math thinking as students find different strategies for solving problems and deepening their understanding of numbers. Math games will give my student the practice they need to help develop numeric fluency.

I will be able to observe and assess my students and work with individuals or small groups of students.
