My Project

I have been brainstorming ways to bring math to life in our classroom and classroom transformations are always so engaging for all learners! I decided to bring our lessons on calculating percentages to life with a restaurant classroom transformation. Student tables will be set up with tablecloths, chef hats, and food baskets. They will have menus where they choose which snack items (drink, snack, dessert) they want to order, calculate a total, and 5.5% tax along with a 20% tip. "When are we ever going to have to do this in the real world?" won't be a question asked by any students in this super engaging lesson!
