Help me give my students an engaging and fun math block! I have two first grade math blocks with 38 multi-leveled students. I teach math to both TAG and general education students.
Our school is a mixture of diverse learners and my classroom is no different. In the school day, I teach two blocks of math and science. One of the blocks is the TAG (talented and gifted) and the other is my general education students. Needless to say, we are in need of resources that both groups can utilize and make their experience with math a successful one.
The goal is to make all my students feel like master mathematicians.
The materials from this project will influence their perspective of and relationship with math.
The dry erase boards and 3D view-thru shapes will be used in small group settings, where learning gaps will be lessened. The teacher resource books will be used to further my learning of how to make math engaging and progress toward student mastery. The read-aloud books are paired with lessons on those specific skills and provides students with an understanding that reading is found across all academic subjects.
