My Project

As I am approaching the end of my second year of teaching, I can confidently say my fourth graders could benefit from more social emotional lessons as well as math manipulatives.

For fourth grade, I've noticed they learn best when they can put the content in the context of their own lives or touch the concepts with their hands.

The SEL materials will help them grow to be more well rounded learners as they navigate interpersonal and self-focused relationships. The books will help them explicitly learn how to act on their own feelings.

The math manipulatives will act as tools for bringing difficult and abstract concepts to life at their finger tips, which will both motivate them and help them learn! I especially can't wait for the math manipulatives center that I will give them access to. They will be able to take responsibility over their learning and use the tools that work best for them.
