Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 4th grade bilingual students at Burleson Elementary in Dallas ISD. They are between the ages of 9-11 years old. I teach them math, which they seem to enjoy very much. My students did extremely well on District assessments and state assessment this past year.
My students use their interactive notebooks daily in their math and science classroom.
My students school to be very involved in school by their participation in the school book club, number sense team, and destination imagination competition.
My Project
My students use interactive notebooks in their math and science classes. I have been using these notebooks for a few years now and plan to continue to use this in the years to come. My students benefit greatly from the use of these notebooks. They will use this notebook as a reference daily in their classroom. We need materials such as notebooks, colored paper, glue sticks, and colored pencils.
They will take notes, create foldables, write, and do drawings to summarize their learning.
My students have enjoyed doing these notebooks in the pass and some keep up with them after the school year is over and refer to them the following year.
