Math and Science Fun!

My students need materials for science and math class. They need speakers for multimedia educational resources, capacity containers, and an ant farm for science class.

My Students

Our elementary school is located in the southeastern part of Butler County, Pennsylvania. Our town has grown a lot during the past 20 years. Starting with farms, a few restaurants, a grocery store, and a couple of gas stations, it is continuing to grow each day.

My classroom is also growing each and every day.

I teach 48 students with different ways of reaching their full potential. Each of my students needs certain adaptations to learn. Some students need privacy or silence in order to concentrate, while others may need to “fidget” in their seats. Scheduled breaks are needed for some of my students as well. Other students learn best with technology or movement.

Aside from being so very unique and different, my students all have one thing in common: the desire to do their best. Possessing the tools necessary for their individual success is all that is needed.

My Project

Most of my students are visual learners. During Science and Math class, I show videos and songs to enhance student learning and focus. My old speakers fell on the floor and broke.

We need new speakers to be able to listen to science and math instructional videos and songs.

We also need capacity containers so that students can see how liquid can be measured using different units appropriate for the selected material. The visuals will help my students understand the size and transfer of liquids.

An ant farm will help my students understand how ants live and function as a colony. They will see how they interact with each other and help each other in their colony. This is a very valuable lesson in life science.
