Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mostly ESL at our Title I school. We are seventy-five percent free or reduced-price lunch. Some students are from migrant families and have changed schools frequently due to their parents' jobs. The students here are respectful and sweet and eager to learn. Every day has an "aha" moment, which makes them a joy to teach.
Seventy-Five percent of my students not only come from low-income families but have endured Hurricanes during Covid here in the Gulf Coast region of Texas.
Even with such adversity, the students are appreciative and positive with a willingness to learn. My students run to my small group table every day to see what we are learning. They are a joy to teach and we have become a family of learners.
I am an ESL, Special Ed Teacher and also teach Dyslexia Groups. I have around twenty-five students a day that I teach and inspire to bring the joy of learning into our community.
My Project
The students I work with or in need of new materials from Teachers Pay Teachers. We also need some math materials to help with math facts!
Teachers Pay Teachers are resources made for teachers by teachers to help students learn.
The math boards are easy to use and help students learn their multiplication facts and there are some to help with addition and subtraction. These materials will help students remotely and face to face.
We would appreciate any help you can give to supply these new materials for my students. They are hard workers and would appreciate any new materials! Thank you!
