My students need Math Games and Reading Games that foster decision making and critical thinking--as well as make learning fun.

My Students

My students are caring. We're from an island school in a small farming and fishing community, Students work together in the school garden, and play together on the recess field. They help each other when one is behind. They admit their mistakes and make amends.

My students are inquisitive and hardworking.

In a discussion topic their questions and reasoning are on point. I am impressed with the amount of time and effort they put into the tasks I assign. These young children make me proud.

My Project

My students, too often, wait to be shown what to do and told what to think. I want them to have confidence in their own decisions. Additionally, because I am new to the school, I don't have any fun games for the students to play.

These games will fill both needs: allow a safe venue to practice academic independence and allow students to enjoy quality fun with peers.

Another reason for needing Math and Reading games is to limit screen time. We use technology extensively and intentionally. Students like online games, but a real life game will give them a break from the digital world and allow them to strengthen their relationships with their classmates.
