My students need more shelving for books in our classroom library, math games, and gamification of literacy to help bring excitement and engagement for the hardest to reach children.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a third grade teacher at an elementary school in Monroe, NC. Our school is a title 1 school with a high ESL (English as a Second Language) population.
My goal this year is to provide my students with an accessible library and impart a love for learning through games.
I will have a variety of students in my classroom this year. Their interests range from basketball to Minecraft and everything in between.
I try to provide each of them with an opportunity to feel welcome and make learning fun. Thank you for learning about my class and for considering making a donation.
My Project
The materials in this project are crucial to help create an exciting and engaging experience in my classroom. This year I am trying to create a "game centered learning environment" through gamification of some learning aspects. The math games included in this project will be used to engage students even some of the harder to excite boys.
The book shelves will provide students with a place to congregate and access the beautiful library I have in my room.
I have used my last few donor choose projects to provide my students with a beautiful library of books. It is difficult for them to go through all of these books though. I want to make a reading "lounge" where I can purposefully display books and students have an easy time discovering new titles.
