Imagine a classroom where students become as close as siblings! That's what happens after two years of being in the same classroom with the same teacher and same peers. Our class of 23 students is starting our first year of our "loop" which makes us a little more unique than traditional public school classes.
My students work together, learn together and collaborate, which builds their relationships.
Of course, learning is our main objective, but seeing the outcome of these long-lasting friendships is equally fulfilling for me as a teacher!
My Project
I am requesting teacher created resources which align with our math and reading standards that the students can complete independently or with a partner during our math and literacy rotations.
Students will use these activities and games to support and extend their learning of fundamental grade level math and reading skills.
I have implemented guided reading and math rotations to accommodate more individualized instruction for small groups of students. When students are meeting in their small groups, the direct instruction with the teacher takes place. The students also rotate through other stations to allow the teacher to meet with other small groups. These stations provide a time for students to have additional practice with applying the newly learned reading or math skills. These materials will be an asset to support the extra practice time the students need in order to become proficient with the state standards. By donating to this project, you will make learning these essential reading and math skills more enjoyable and engaging for my students!
