My classroom is full of many different students. Students from different backgrounds, cultures, styles of learning, etc. I have learned this year especially that all my students learn in different ways. That can be through hands-on, whole group, independent practice, etc. With high stake testing happening it is sometimes nice for my students to get a break and enjoy interacting with one another in small groups to improve their skills and practice the skills being taught.
I strive to make my classroom a safe place for my students to come and learn.
I want every student in my classroom to know that they are capable learning no matter their level. Without classroom learning my students wouldn't be able to think outside the box, develop stronger social skills, and put their learning and knowledge to the test.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my classroom because during small group time in both math and guided reading I like my students to enjoy exploring their learning through different games with groups and on their own.
I want them to have fun and become confident!
I also like to be able to differentiate their learning through these different games. Everyone's brains work differently so having a variety of different materials for my students to feel confident and practice concepts being taught in class is crucial for them to be successful. Also its fun to see them laugh and have fun even when they are working on school work! I have chose a variety of different small group games to practice multiplication and division like the towers that will be played like Jenga. I have also picked some reading comprehension skill games that we will work on during guided reading time.
