Help me give my students with autism the resources for their math and language centers. These centers will help them to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a Kindergarten teacher in a ASD Nest classroom at PS 151K located in Brooklyn, NY. My Nest Kindergarten classroom is an integrated classroom that welcome 12 students, between General Education and Autistic students. PS151K is a Title 1 school, which means a high percentage of our students are from low-income households, that may not have access to educational learning resources at home.
By donating to my project, you will help to improve my student critical thinking skills and to develop the love for Math and Literacy that ultimately would help to increase their academic achievement.
For instance, the math centers will give them the opportunity to have additional practice in learning how to add, subtract, identifying patterns, etc. Additionally the Language centers will provide them with additional resources to practice beginning, middle, and ending sounds. Being equipped with the necessary tools is the key for our autistic students to be able to thrive in an integrated community school academically.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
