I teach seniors who are required to pass a math class as a graduation requirement. Most of them don't list math as their favorite subject, and some haven't seen a lot of success in their math pathway. They are super fun kids who have a lot of talent and potential in many areas of life.
It's fun to see them succeed where they didn't think they could!
They CAN be successful in math even though it's not their favorite subject!
My Project
Through generous donations, my class has been able to purchase art supplies to work on projects that integrate both art and math. STEAM all the way! What we need now are ways to organize all those supplies! We also need a few more calculators... we're having so much fun, those classes just keep getting bigger!
We want to keep all our supplies in good, working order for as long as possible!
Storage bins will allow us to keep all the supplies organized so current and future students will be able to enjoy them. We don't want all those nice markers to dry out! A file box will allow the students to keep each of their projects separated and organized while they aren't in class, and the chipboard will help them construct scaled items of their choice as we begin our 3D modeling unit. Markers and color pens will allow them to decorate their projects to match the original item.
