My students need Expo markers and washable markers to complete their math and art projects.

My Students
Do you remember when your teacher allowed you the freedom to move around the classroom and complete a Math assignment using colored pencils, markers, manipulatives, and other methods besides simply pencil and paper? My students learn best when they are creating a project.
I have students in a self contained Special Education setting.
They are a small group, but they are eager to learn. The best thing about having this population is that there is an enormous amount of information to teach the group. I always get excited for the challenge and love hearing when certain students remember a conversation or a concept we discussed in the beginning of the school year. These students come from a variety of different cultural backgrounds and we try to incorporate their backgrounds into our learning.
My Project
My students have chart paper and small white board tablets. They will use the markers to create projects on the chart paper and will use the dry erase markers to complete skill and drill questions on the white board tablets. When we are done with a question I have students hold up their white board tablets. It is fun to watch students look around the classroom and observe their classmates' progress throughout the lesson. It is a great time to have them critique other students' work in a positive manner.
My project will make a difference because it will show that outside individuals care about their success.
Also, it is rare that my students get anything truly new. They get excited over the smallest new item given to them, whether it is an interesting pencil, a new funky sticker, or a brand new pack of markers. They truly appreciate the little things within the school environment.
More than half of students from low‑income households
