This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I have the privilege of academically motivating and challenging an amazingly curious and enthusiastic bunch of students.

They enjoy working and thinking together, as well as playing math games. Our students LOVE to learn. They are also super competitive and love to win! Our classrooms are boundless, learning communities where students aspire to their dreams and success is expected of all.

My Project

A challenge that has presented itself to teachers and students is math fluency. Although students are working on higher level math skills, the basics are where they are getting hung up.

Math 24 is an intellectually, challenging game leading to improved skill with basic facts and mental math.

The Math 24 Game activates engage entire communities by involving parents and families in the goal to raise mathematics achievement among students.

Tournaments are an excellent vehicle for propelling students into the world of mathematics. I am requesting the 24 Challenge Tournament mats, 24 Game Logo medals, and 24 Game wristbands to hold classroom tournaments. Benefits for students will include improved focus, the ability to remain emotionally centered under pressure, quickness in thinking, and increased confidence in mental math abilities.
