Materials to Learn

My Students

I teach an amazing group of culturally and racially diverse 6-year-olds. My classroom is in a Title I building in Historic Sandy, UT. My students are divided into two academic ability groupings. I've got 50% below grade level and 50% on or above grade level in reading and math.

I am one lucky pseudo mama of twenty-four students that have the opportunity to learn in-person.

We just need a little refresh for our classroom.

My Project

Many of my students don't have hands on supplies at home. They have never had crayons, scissors, paint, or pencils. They are a tablet generation. However, learning is a hands on practice.

Give them materials to learn!

Kids who have been cooped up inside during COVID need exposure to letters, numbers, practice writing and opportunities for their imagination to grow. The supplies and rewards in this DonorsChoose grant will motivate children to learn and do it so that they are captivated by the experience. These resources will be used in the classroom and at home.

Lastly, the seat sacks will help keep individualized tools at student desk in a neat, organized manner.
