My Students
The March 25th tornado destroyed many of our classroom materials.
I teach a Kindergarten class at a Title 1 school in Moore, Oklahoma. My students come from low income households and often lack experience with literature. Classroom exposure to a variety of literature improves student vocabulary . Additionally a print rich classroom increases students' desire to learn.
My Project
I will use the literature in large group read-aloud lesson , guided reading lessons and listening centers. The carpet I requested gives my students the security of a place where they belong during my whole group lessons. In addition the carpet makes my class a warm and welcoming learning environment.
Your donation will help me replace items lost in the storm. A classroom rich in a variety of literature improves student vocabulary and fluency. These items will return my classroom to a sense of normality .
