Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
COVID-19 has put a significant financial and emotional strain on my students and their families. When I ask parents/guardians to provide school supplies for their student, I am just one more person asking for them to dip into their finances that are already tight, and in some cases, overextended. I want to help out these families.
I also want to ease the social-emotional burden on those students who know that tight finances may permit them to buy supplies, but they might not be as impressive as other students.
In providing the supplies for them, I make sure that all the supplies are the same across the board; leaving no student to feel inferior to their peers.
