Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students have come a long way this year! My students love learning and are incredibly inquisitive, especially in science and social studies. Their questions are endless! They also love solving math problems and learning new math strategies. During literacy centers, students enjoy reading and discussing their reading.
Students at our elementary use PRIDE to role model for their peers.
PRIDE stands for Prepared, Respect & Caring, Inclusiveness, Discipline, and Effort. They display at least one (if not all) of these characteristics daily. I'm so proud of their progress this year!
My Project
From flexible seating to math manipulatives, students have told me they learn best with cozy spots in the classroom and with math visuals. Help them become their best by providing them with these effective materials.

Students want to feel comforted and safe in a place that they spend seven hours a day. They've told me that flexible seating makes them feel this way. Many students have also shared that the use of fractions bars and place value flip charts helps their learning grow deeper. Students of color appreciate being able to identify with characters of color as well. This project would fulfill that gap for them!
