My students come from many different backgrounds and come to me with very different experiences. They speak many different languages and have very different educational needs. They come from different kinds of families and different living situations.
My students are coming to school for the first time.
These four year olds are eager to learn and engage with their peers. The best part of working with my students is that they all accept and love each other regardless of all their differences.
My Project
In my preschool class this year I have many students that are displaying sensory seeking behaviors. In order for them to be successful in the preschool classroom I am looking for materials that will make it easier for them function in the general education preschool setting.
Specialized seating will help the students to focus better during large group activities.
I am hoping that the use of a rocking chair and square chairs that provide support will assist the students in sitting for longer periods of time. Additionally, I am seeking a weighted lap blanket and compression vest to help the students regulate their bodies.
