This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a science educator I am always looking for lessons that are engaging and interesting to my students. For this is only when I get their attention and get them learning.

My students are fantastic seventh graders at a wonderful California school.

Many of them are artistic, and so I try to include a way for them to express themselves through art to share their knowledge of science concepts. There is something about art that can allow a kid to shine and show their personalities in their art. I love to grade these projects the most as it shows their uniqueness.

My Project

What I need are some basic supplies right now. I need colored pencils to use in the art lessons I incorporate into some of our lessons, like our mitosis flip books, or our genetics "Design a Kid" Lab and many more. If I could have colored pencils grouped in small containers, I can keep them organized and have them to where they are easy to deliver to student work groups. I also need balloons to use in our respiratory lung models lab, and measuring lung capacity lab.

Any help will be very much appreciated!
