This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials will greatly help my students to understand our Astronomy unit. Space is very broad and can be hard to comprehend the vastness of it all and the minuteness of us within it. These inflatable planets will allow students to see where each planet is within our solar system each day as well as what they look like. These will be a great visual to have in the classroom as well as the using the projector so students can see the different parts of universe up close. Having class time where we can all sit in a circle looking at the projections and analyzing different parts of the universe will help to engage the students and further their understanding of this unit.

There are many great labs and materials on TPT so having gift cards to include those in my classroom would greatly help.

There are wonderful note cut-outs that we can add to notebooks so students can interact with the material more as well as interactive activities to help them. We will be doing labs and activities where students need to color the planets and create a scale to represent the distance between each planet. Having more colored pencils will make this much easier and allow my students to see the differences between areas of our universe.
