Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Difficulties with generalization of skills are well-known in individuals with autism. Students with autism require multi-sensory learning opportunities to reach their full potential. They need visual, auditory, and tactile learning strategies to engage them and help them learn.
My students are in a self-contained ABA autism classroom.
I have six students in my classroom, five boys and one girl. The best resources for children with autism are those that provide sensory input. Please help make my classroom a fun and hands-on learning environment!
My Project
We always try to teach using hands-on, manipulative, multi-sensory techniques throughout the school day. We integrate this approach while working on academic, social, and communication goals. The tactile learning materials in the theme box would allow for my students to have hands-on, discovery experiences while learning about colors, numbers, and other theme based areas. It is essential to have many different varieties of learning experiences for autistic children to fully generalize and learn important concepts. These essential materials will help my students thrive and learn! My students need reading materials, file folder games, counting, hands-on manipulatives, and storage solutions.
Please help make my classroom a fun and hands-on learning environment!
