This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom materials have been loved to pieces-literally! Over the years, our math and literacy games and books have sparked countless “aha” moments, but they’ve also experienced a lot of wear and tear, with missing pieces and frayed pages, slowing down our learners. Many of our students are just on the cusp of becoming bookworms, and engaging graphic novels and playful, silly stories have proven to be the perfect bridge to fluency and independent reading. Now, we need fresh, durable materials-new math and literacy games and chapter books-that will carry them across the finish line of this school year.
