My Students
It has been over 6 weeks since my students experience normalcy in their educational journey. My students crave routine and hands on experiences to help them learn. I’ve been doing my best to try and create a new normal for them while teaching online, but it is extremely difficult without classroom materials in my home as well as a lack of needed materials in their homes.
My Project
These materials will allow the students in my autistic support classroom to have hands on learning resources at home to practice what we are learning online. It has been extremely difficult to sustain student engagement and awareness on material being taught, but having these resources in their homes as we practice the material online will allow them to make a correlation and hopefully generalize the skills.
My students have been out of the traditional classroom for over six weeks now, and this is especially difficult for them and their need for routine and consistency.
These last six weeks have been a learning process for everyone involved and we are extremely thankful for generous supporters that care about our students as much as we do!
