My Project

I teach First grade in a diverse urban area of the Philadelphia School District. I have varied learners in my classroom, all of which have different abilities and needs to reach their potential. My students come to school eager to learn, and I am happy to be there with them to share and instill a love of learning. However, they often come without basic materials to start the year.

We will need some supplies to start off the school year on the learning and engaged.

From the first day of school we are writing, reading, and doing math. Dry erase markers and erasers will help students show their work during whole group and small group lessons.

Next year, I would like to provide each student with a pencil case filled with crayons, scissors, glue, and pencils on their first day of school. This will help them to begin the school year learning and working, while giving them ownership over their belongings from day one.
