Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school is located in a low-income area where over 90% of the students are on free or reduced-price lunches. Buying supplies for multiple students and multiple classes can be a burden on families. Students often feel embarrassed and do not come to school because they do not have the proper materials for learning. Furthermore, our school is under-resourced and we are constantly in need of supplies. For most of my first graders, this is their first experience in school since the COVID-19 pandemic. I would love for my students to receive the education they deserve. Having basic school supplies will prepare the students for learning and achieving their educational goals. The printer will allow me to print, copy and scan documents, lessons and activities as well as weekly newsletters without missing classroom instruction or needing to worry about the school printer being broken.
