I teach at a Title I school in Utah where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch and over 50% of our students are ethnic minorities. I work with many amazing and diverse students who have various challenges in their home environment they enter school with.
I teach students with and without intellectual disability who need extra support to succeed beyond what other students receive.
I teach students with a wide variety of deficits in speech, language and intellectual deficits.
My Project
These materials will be very beneficial to my students learning. The children's books will be for lessons for my functional skills class when we do literacy units. I have an increasing number of students on my caseload with autism who need special training in how to deal with pragmatic language and social skills.
These materials will also be used to practice the listening comprehension, grammar and other pre-literacy skills for my students who have special learning needs.
The voice amplifier will be beneficial to help speech students better hear their own speech. All these materials will be very helpful to diverse learners!
